It’s done, and ready for action! The Mission to Heal team is currently in Breda, Netherlands inspecting the new MSU-II. This one-of-a-kind Mobile Surgical Unit is uniquely designed to provide volunteers with a fully-equipped operating suite that can traverse nearly any terrain.<\/p>\n
Patients will be able to receive much-needed care, many times within walking distance of their home. They will be able to recover in the company of their friends and family. Most importantly, they will be able to undergo procedures that were previously out of reach due to barriers of distance, time, money, and expertise.<\/p>\n
Here is Dr. Geelhoed’s first reaction to the MSU-II, where he recognizes its amazing capabilities and also the importance of protecting this tool:<\/p>\n
Every component part of the new MSU MAN KAT units are over-engineered with rather all possibilities in extreme circumstances considered.<\/p>\n
The testing is now about to start after the training of the trainers, but it will be a process of selection from a number of skilled people that will be required before we have drivers and unit operators that can be entrusted with this highly valuable unit.<\/p>\n
Every accessory that I thought could be imagined they have worked on to make it as close to perfection as possible for the rugged independence that is expected to be required. We will exercise great care in how it is used and where, since it is likely to be abused as often as used and we must protect it with very dedicated personnel.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
